The NCAA has denied a waiver to let Royce White compete for Iowa State this season. The NCAA ruling against Iowa State? Shocking.

“We are disappointed in the decision but we will start the appeal process immediately,” Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg said in a release sent out by the university. “We will exhaust every option available to try and restore Royce’s eligibility. Royce is disappointed as well, but he is appreciative of our intent to appeal the decision.”

White, Rivals.com’s 19th-best player in the class of 2009, announced that he would transfer to Iowa State from Minnesota back on July 12.

The release also stated that Iowa State plans to appeal this decision. Read the entire release by CLICKING HERE.

Iowa State will begin their 2010 season on Friday night when Northern Arizona comes to town. The game will tip at 7 p.m.
