Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day Fanatics. Many of you have today off. If that’s the case, enjoy it.

We’ll be plugging away as usual today here at CycloneFanatic.com. As it is each and every Monday during the football and basketball seasons, it is press conference day in Ames. Bill Fennelly and Greg McDermott will be meeting with members of the media later on so look forward to coverage from those events this afternoon.

I also wanted to take some time to let you all know about a couple more football interviews that will be up on the site later this week. I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Iowa State’s defensive line coach Curtis Bray and tight end’s coach Courtney Messingham. Like offensive line coach Bill Bliel did last week, these two pieces provide great insight into what the 2010 Cyclone football team will look like come Sept. 2.

The interview with Bray gives wonderful insight on the development of Iowa State’s 2010 defensive line. Obviously, that is going to be one of the many keys to the Cyclones going back to another bowl game.

The Messingham interview was fascinating to me. What is the tight end’s real role in this new Iowa State offense? What is the perfect tight end for a Tom Herman run unit? Coach Messingham answered some of those questions and more.

I’m looking forward to bringing you those interviews as well as more football content here in the coming weeks at CycloneFanatic.com.

Short blog today. Check out the site later on today for all of the Cyclone hoops content that you can handle.

Chris Williams
Chris Williamshttp://www.CycloneFanatic.com
Chris was hired as Cyclone Fanatic’s publisher in the fall of 2009. He is Iowa State football's postgame show host on the Cyclone Radio Network and can be heard daily from 4-7 on Des Moines' top-rated sports station, 1460 KXnO. Williams, a 2007 graduate of Iowa State’s Greenlee School of Journalism, is the former publisher of the old CycloneNation.com (Scout.com). He has also written for the Des Moines Register, the Ames Tribune, CycloneReport.com and is the former sports director at KMA Radio. When Williams isn’t working, you can usually find him doing something outdoors with his wife Ashley, daughter Camryn, and Golden Retriever Dierks. He enjoys golfing, boating, country music, the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Braves and is passionate about any and all motor sports so finding Williams at a local dirt track is very common.
