What a run the last few days have been for Iowa State head football coach and the Iowa State program.

A win against Baylor…Now, as The Des Moines Register’s Randy Peterson reported in his live chat this afternoon, the Cyclones have gained the commitment of Jarvis West, a 5-foot-7, 165-pound wide receiver out of St. Petersburg, Fla. According to his Rivals.com database, Jarvis chose Iowa State over Nebraska, Mississippi, Syracuse, Toledo and Tulsa.

My Take: Some more great news for the future of Iowa State football. This morning I wrote that Coach Rhoads and his staff were really trying to uncover some hidden stars by recruiting against smaller, non-BCS schools. I meant what I wrote but it’s also nice to see Iowa State beat out teams like Nebraska and Mississippi.

Jarvis will just be another weapon that Tom Herman will have at his disposal.

Also, if you read Peterson’s chat, I wanted to throw it out there that nobody associated with CycloneFanatic.com made that post near the end.
