Greg Ohlson of CycloneSportsReport.com reported last night that Katy, Tex. linebacker Floyd Mattison has committed to join Paul Rhoads’ 2010 recruiting class.

Chris’ Take: At 6-foot, 190 pounds. Mattison is a speedy linebacker that will fit well into Wally Burnham’s system at Iowa State. This is a nice fit…all because of the S-word used above.

Speed, speed, speed, speed. That’s what Mattison brings to the table. Mattison visited on homecoming weekend and chose Iowa State over Houston, Oklahoma State and TCU.

Mattison is the fifth defensive commitment in Iowa State’s 2010 class according to the Rivals.com database. He’s the second linebacker to commit, joining Cqulin Hubert, a 6-foot-1, 217 pounder out of Houston.
